Everything AND the Kitchen Sink!

Gone are the days of your basic, run of the mill, don't even give it a second thought, kitchen sink.

Single or double, top or under-mounted, farmhouse or apron, integrated or prep, we now have a plethora of styles to choose from, but far more excitingly, is the vast array of materials on offer.

Quartz, marble, granite composite and porcelain we are all very familiar with, but we are now seeing sink manufactured from more interesting and unusual materials. With stone, concrete, brass, copper, cast iron and bamboo among those on-trend and making a striking impact in our homes.

A renewal resource that delivers a modern, natural, earthy look, bamboo is an incredible material that can be shaped into any design and style, and when when mixed with ceramic materials, provides a durable and sturdy alternative, that works well with any decor.

Brass is another material making a splash - not only with sinks, but with kitchen doors and panels too, and when teemed black or rich, dark tones it has a truly phenomenal effect.

Concrete sinks have been around for a few years and are making an even stronger comeback as a versatile, inexpensive material that can become something completely unique and perfectly imperfect that works well with different design styles; with colour and texture variations that only add to its character and charm, albeit they won't stand the test of time, so be prepared to embrace the well-worn look to come.

Cast iron offers a striking look and makes a great focal point, especially when paired in a rustic or farmhouse style kitchen.

Kitchens are often referred to as the hub of our family homes, so the next time you are renovating or given your kitchen a makeover, make the sink a feature not an after-thought. Afterall, we spend enough time standing at it, we might as well love looking at it too!
